Flower vase 

I bet none can tell me what the decorative flower the below vase contains. It is nothing , but a spiny stem of a tree branch. It is an unwanted tree in our farm. I do not know its name. It has lots of spines in the body of the stem. It is normally a very dry tree. I collected few twigs of it when it was cut in our farm. To this I just put thermocole shaped into small cubes which I painted before with different poster colors. This made a different flower stems that can be placed in a vase. To keep the twigs in place I filled an old glass jar with sand. I also adorned the glass jar with little bit paintings too.

Wind chime

Wind chimes were at one time so popular and this inspired me to try this out in making when I saw its very simple to do. All that is needed was to produce a light chim-chim sound. For this my Dad gave me an idea. He somehow helped me to cut old antenna rod into pieces and here I used the antenna rods and very thin thread to hang it. An old small steel plate is used at the center that will help to produce sounds when the antenna rods shakes in the air. For any message there is smiley and hence I made a smiley as the main object that hangs at the center

I love doing fabric paintings. This is the one in which I first tried doing shades for the petals. Both are  simple patterns for table cloth.

Wall Hanger

Here I used golden and silver thread plus silver sequences. The idea of putting background adds beauty to the picture. I used black cloth for this and the threads and sequences are just pasted using fevicol. 

Jeans Bag-Front side

Nothing is waste!!! I was about to throw my old jeans. But just then got an idea and suddenly removed the whole stitch and just made an hand bag. The full credit in stitching without wasting a single material goes to my mom's aunt who actually helped me in this.

 We even used the zip as it is and made it as side pockets for the bag which can be used to put mobile. We did not removed the brand name and stitched label also to give it originality. The long unwanted piece is used as handle. 

After this is done, we were left with a small pocket piece. With this We made a small mobile pouch too:)

Very simple thread pattern. Pattern just came into my mind and tried over a cloth which I later used to make mobile pouch.

Jewelery pouch and a smaller pouch with cutchwork designs. These types of pouches are easy to stitch and also they are washable after long use. Used sponge inside to make it little stiff

Glass Paintings

If you think only artists can do glass painting, you are wrong. Painting on glass may seem impossible, but all it takes is patience. Hence,even if you don't know the ABCD of painting you can become a glass painter, as it is most easy and quick.

 The best part I like it is that unlike the tedious job of water color painting or oil painting, glass painting is very easy. It is a fun and a great hobby. It does not create the  difficulty of paint brushes.

All we have to use is the control on the flow of glass paint. 

Each glass paint bottle  comes with a small nozzle through which you can give the painting on the glass. A tube  is glass liner which is black, used for lining the picture you want to paint.

There are other colors also that comes in the form of liner.There are golden,silver etc. Golden liner is used in the “Ganeshji", "Bride" and "Parrot" paintings.

In most of the paintings I used only black liners. There are transparent liners also which I used in the painting “Butterfly”.

While the colors for filling are fairly in liquid form. But these gets dried soon.

Here are the few steps I follow while doing glass paintings

Step 1:Clean the glass on both sides with soap water .Dry it

Step 2: Choose a good pattern and draw it in a white paper.

Step3: Place the paper below the glass sheet.

Step 4: Trace the outlines of the design using the liner. Keep it to dry. Leave it untouched.

Step 5:Paint the design with required Glass colors. Leave to dry for 24 hours.

Use a pin/Tooth pick to remove Bubbles formed.

Initially I used glass paper sheets instead of glass piece. I even framed it myself using a thermocole and cardboard. To give more looks I used color cello tape for border as in “Fairy Lady” painting.

Later I started doing it in glass pieces.

Mehendi Designs

I am very interested in putting Mehendi. I always collect new designs and my mom's hand would be there kept for me to try out anything. The inspirations for this came from my friends. I have, two of my friends who are expert in this. Infact one of them had decorated my hand fully during my wedding. Few mehendi that I had put.

I again had an opportunity to put mehendi during my sister-in-laws pre-delivery function. I had taken most of the designs from various sites,assembled together and they came out really good when applied in her hands.

Stitching is my favourite hobby. My greatest inspiration is my Mom. She does magic with any piece of cloth and that will finally come up with amazing outcomes. Her work is neat and good and I always remember my mom's aunt when i do stitching for, her ideas and work are better.

I tried sitching salwar using paper cut and all. But I am more interested in its body design work. I have done embroideries and paintings to few of my salwars. I generally ask my tailor to cut the pieces seperately and then I will mark the portions of sleeves, neck, bottom , etc . After this, I select the appropriate designs and trace it out over the cloth and then start doing Embroideries. Then will give to tailor back to complete salwar stitch.

  

Pachistrakka stitch with stone work

Pachistrakka is a stitch I learnt recently which is very simple. For this the combination of colors of thread is important. Because a centre tie is made for every box shaped stitch. To give more style I used stone work in this.

I tried many stitches. But i love cutch work most. Being the fastest and beautiful stitch, it is easy to work out and for me it is a very neat stitch. It will not fade away and it is really attractive. Specific design should be selected for this as it will always come with a square boxed flower like we draw in Tic-Tac Toe game.
Double thread will give this better look. For long stem like structures chain stitch will go good.Even back stitch can be used for this purpose.

Simple chain stitch in some special arrangements will make an attractive body. This is the one that I just took half an hour to finish whole stitching.

Fabric Painting

Apart from this I have done simple fabric painting for one salwar as well.





I wanted to consolidate different types of stitches in one cloth. Hence I decided to stitch it in a kurtha material.

Here I have used almost 6 to 7 types of stitches namely double feather stitch, horizontal Y stitch, cutch work, kasuti stitch,  pachis stitch, stem stitch, spiral stitch and simple stitch of knots. I simply used red and green thread for the whole kurtha stitching.

Pot Paintings

Pot Painting is a very interesting hobby as the results are often quite creative. One does not even need to learn it from any one nor are there any hard and fast rules to be followed. This hobby is as old as the art of pottery itself and nowadays it is the best way by which one decorates the interior and garden areas as well, with funky painted pots. And the best part of this hobby is that one need not learn it from anyone, as all it needs is creativity and, of course, some pots.

I did not get pots. I simply used  pickle storing clay pots, salt mango storing pots, etc that were using during olden days
